Greater Works Than These Shall You Do
The words of Christ were not poetic metaphor.
They were prophecy spoken from union:
“Greater works than these shall you do, because I go to the Father.”
—John 14:12
He wasn’t pointing to performance.
He wasn’t calling us to outdo miracles
or tally signs like spiritual accomplishments.
He was revealing the mystery of oneness—
that in His ascension, we would awaken to our own.
When Christ returned to the Father,
He was not leaving us—
He was filling us.
He was multiplying Himself in us,
that the same flame that healed the blind,
walked on water,
and silenced storms
would now burn in the still chambers of every son and daughter.
The greater work is not louder, flashier, or more seen.
It is deeper.
Quieter.
It is the work of transfiguration—
where the veil of ego melts,
and Christ is formed in us,
not just as a figure we follow,
but as the nature we become.
Greater works are not done by effort.
They flow from rest.
They rise when we live not as a separate “me,”
but as the branch that abides in the Vine.
To love without condition,
to forgive without effort,
to radiate peace in chaos,
to speak and heaven answers—
these are greater works.
For the greatest work of all
is when a heart awakens from illusion,
remembers its divine origin,
and walks the earth as one
who has come from Light.
We are not here to admire Jesus.
We are here to embody Him.
We are not here to revisit Pentecost.
We are here to host the eternal flame
and become the living upper room.
So beloved, do not doubt the fire within you.
The works will come,
not because you strive to be like Him—
but because you no longer see yourself apart from Him.
For Christ is not simply returning to the world—
He is returning as it.
And the flame in you is proof
that the greater works have already begun.
